Easter Eggs and Treasure Hunts

Last Sunday, after enjoying the resurrection Sunday message at church, we attended an Easter brunch with our family. Afterwards, we gathered at my home for the annual Easter egg hunt with the five grandchildren who live here in Arkansas.
It’s a fun tradition and game that many families observe. The children eagerly await until all the eggs are hidden in my backyard—only then can the Easter egg hunt begin. Once that is complete, baskets are distributed, and the race and hunt are on with squeals of laughter and delight. The children race around the large backyard, baskets swinging in their hands as they search the yard, pots, garden, and flowerbeds, and more for the hidden eggs.
Some treasures are hidden in plain sight, others must be diligently sought after. Some eggs blend in with the flowers or grass and surroundings, so the plastic eggs are missed at first pass. Others are so carefully hidden that the children have to search for the treasures diligently.
But after the hunt is completed, the grandchildren find great joy in discovering what treasures are hidden within the eggs: candy, treats, small toys, balloons, gift notes, money, and more. Their squeals of delight and joyful laughter bring smiles to all the adults.

Like the Easter egg hunt, God finds great pleasure in blessing our lives with delightful treasures. Sometimes, He reveals Himself in the beauty of a songbird or the fragrance of a flower. Other times, we have to look more diligently in His Word for a hidden blessing that’s in plain sight! Or, often, we have to search and look a little deeper for what gifts He longs to give His children.
And just like a loving parent or even an indulging parent or grandparent, it’s His great delight to bless our lives. What treasures are you looking for? Let your Heavenly Father bless your life with His goodness and His great gifts.

Beloved:
I delight to bless your life just like any loving parent. I have gifts and treasures you’ve yet to uncover or discover for your life. Seek after Me and you will find great delights for your life! I’m a good Father and I rejoice in blessing My children.
“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart.” (Psalm 119:2)
“I love those who love Me; And those who diligently seek Me will find Me.” (Proverbs 8:17)
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” (Matthew 13:44)
