Step Into The New

"What's ahead in the coming year...?"

As the new year rolls into 2025, I’ve been too preoccupied with trying to clean and declutter my house after the Christmas holidays to celebrate and embrace the new year truly.

I’ve been focused on tearing down all the decorations, untrimming my Christmas trees, and packing away the holiday decor. It’s a rather long and laborious process as my whole house is decked with Christmas decor. I think I enjoy the decorating part more than the tearing down process—as it doesn’t seem to hold all the joyful anticipation of what is to come…

But then I’m reflecting on what the new year is yet to hold in the unfolding of the days, weeks, and months to come in 2025. This year I planned no New Year’s resolutions. But I do have an anticipation of what new things there are to step into and to experience! So, I focus on not just putting away the past, like the holiday decorations, but also, I anticipate what I will step into in the coming days.

This Christmas, my kids gave me new cookware for my enjoyment and as a wonderful gift to explore! It’s invigorated my creative love of cooking. As a result, I am anticipating stepping into new ways of experimental cooking. I’m already off to a grand start!

My daughter, Nicole, gave me exercise clothing for Christmas and I purchased new workout shoes. Now, I’m stepping into and exploring fresh ways to exercise which I enjoy so much—like a Pilates class or hiring a trainer so that I don’t injure myself lifting weights.

My niece, Kendall, gave me a beautiful new planner for 2025. I’m stepping into creating more order and discipline in my life. I find that I function better when I write down goals and plans and organize my time and projects better.

Then I’ve already been researching new art classes or card crafting technique classes to expand my creative interest this year! There are classes or hobbies like knitting I have long desired to pursue. I love learning new creative outlets. So, I plan on stepping out into some new endeavors.

And you were fashioned in My image to be creative. Be bold and dare to step out into new things I have in store for you this coming year!
